TANlock + LOOP

mobile credentials post

What are mobile credentials?

Just as you have a credit card on your cell phone today, you can use smartphones to authorize personal access to any secured area. The smartphone acts as a new employee badge, key card or key. Unlike something you know, like a password or biometric, mobile credentials are “something you have.” Compared to an RFID card, you always have your phone as a personal device at your fingertips and notice more quickly if you lose it. But how does contactless access work with a smartphone? Quite the same way as with a key card or physical ID. Users can easily use their phone to gain access to office buildings, floors and common areas. Simply hold the device near the mobile reader and open it.

What role do you play in securing IT infrastructures?

The smartphone acts as a new employee badge, key card or key. Unlike something you know, like a password or biometric data, the mobile ID is something you have. Compared to a plastic card, users perceive the cell phone as a personal device – they always have it at hand and notice more quickly if they lose it.

It can be used to quickly issue new credentials and deactivate the old ones if a smartphone is lost or an employee changes. It also eliminates the need for large numbers of RFID cards.

What is LOOP?

The LOOP app from any2any is a digital wallet that can also store the individual mobile credentials for opening the TANlock. The connection via Bluetooth makes it possible to open the TANlock via smartphone. This offers a number of advantages, including the fact that the credentials can be easily assigned and that no additional RFID cards are needed, so you can simply open the desired TANlock with your smartphone, which you carry with you in most cases anyway. This also allows an additional security level to be integrated via the smartphone using a fingerprint or face scanner.

How do I set up the LOOP app with the TANlock?

To set up the LOOP app for the TANlock, proceed as follows:

  1. Make sure you have installed the app on your device.
  2. A license must be purchased for each device. If you have already purchased a license, you can proceed to the next step.
  3. Now you can generate a link and call it with the device you want to open the TANlock with later. Alternatively, you can also scan the QR code with the LOOP app. This will assign the license to your device.
  4. To unlock the TANlock, you need to click on the white “badge” in the app. Now you can hold your device to the TANlock, if you are authorized, it will open.
