Sensors

Sensors represent an important part in the protection of server racks and data centers. They can quickly detect threats such as fire, water or other physical impact and send out an alarm signal. An immediate intervention minimizes consequential damage. You can configure the following sensors in addition to your TANlock or Security Drawer to protect your rack even better.

Sensor feuer und wasser

Humidity and temperature

Water poses a major threat to data centers and also the servers. Even excessive humidity alone can cause damage. Another major threat to data centers is fire, as well as overheating. Therefore, such a sensor is also worthwhile for outdoor racks. It measures the level of humidity, which can be retrieved in real time. If the humidity in the air is too high, it sounds an alarm and sends a notification.

Vibration/ Acceleration

The vibration/acceleration sensor is particularly well suited for additional protection against physical impact on the server rack. If force is exerted, the sensor sounds an alarm with the help of a piezo and logs the event. This makes it possible to tell exactly when there is particular danger or damage has occurred. Physical impact is a major threat to data centers, as servers can easily be damaged or even have sensitive data taken from them.

Smoke sensor

Another major threat to data centers is fire. As has been seen in the past, fire or smoke can cause significant damage to data centers. Therefore, an early detection system is enormously important to minimize potential damage. If smoke is detected by the sensor, this is communicated and logged. This makes it possible to tell exactly when there is particular danger or damage has occurred.

Real-life examples

The vibration/motion sensor was installed in our showroom with the buzzer. Thus, vandalism and physical attacks no longer have a chance to take place unnoticed at the server cabinet.
